The Ecology & Spirituality program at Divinya is an invitation to step fully into that longing, and begin living it. It is a residential program that integrates ecological education, inner transformation, and community living.

What is the Ecology & Spirituality Program?

More than a course. It's a way of life.

The Ecology & Spirituality program is a full immersion into Divinya — a living and learning spiritual community in southern Sweden. You don't come here to study ecology from the outside. You come to live it, from within.

A Divine Agreement

At Divinya, ecology and spirituality are understood in a broad and holistic way. A genuine transition towards ecological living requires not only new technologies or new systems — it requires the inner transformation of every individual: the way we understand ourselves, and how we perceive life. Ecology here is not a discipline but a living web of relationships — a divine agreement between all beings, ecosystems, and consciousness itself. The crisis we face is not just a crisis of environment, climate, or politics; it is a crisis of connection, of perception, of values, and of the dominant worldview.

New Paradigm

This program invites you to explore sustainability as a way of being, and to discover your own participation in the emerging new paradigm.

Holistic Exploration

This is a life-affirming experiential education: learning through living, understanding through experiencing, growing through participating. Through daily community life, direct teachings, hands-on work with the land and its projects, and dedicated spaces for silence and self-inquiry, the fields of inner growth, eco-spirituality, yoga as a way of living, ecology and cosmology are holistically explored within the depth of lived experience.

For many, this program marks a turning point — a before and after in how they understand themselves, their purpose, and their relationship with life.

A focused thematic exploration

You join one subject area of the first-year curriculum and engage with it intellectually, practically, and spiritually. A meaningful step out of ordinary life — to widen your perspective, discover new dimensions of yourself, and experience the Divinya community before committing to a longer journey.

Immersive & Formativ

1 Year

A transformational year of inner growth and holistic ecological understanding. You become a full participant in community life, exploring the deep interconnection between inner transformation and ecological awareness. Through study circles and teachings, guided practice, daily work, and shared life, you discover who you truly are and what you are here to do.

What You Will Learn

Knowledge

Together we explore: ecology as a living web of relationships and the divine agreement between all beings; the human being as a natural, cosmic being and the social-cultural conditioning that limits this; a perspective of life beyond the human-centric standpoint; gender liberation; transformative cosmology; comparative and eco-theology; the emerging new paradigm and planetary transition; and how spirituality is not a separate practice but a living presence in every moment of daily life.

Practical Skills

Ecological building and sustainable technologies, cultivation of crops, vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers, vegetarian-vegan cooking, documentary filmmaking, photography and social media, natural healing, and more.

Inner Growth & Living Practice

In Divinya, life itself is the practice. The days include dedicated spaces for morning meditation, Inner Yoga, guided self-inquiry, silence and contemplation, Satsangs and direct teachings with Guruji Sri Vast. Alongside these, seva — selfless service — is embraced as one of the deepest spiritual practices: the art of bringing full presence, care and devotion to every act of daily life.

This is not a curriculum delivered through books and lectures. It is a living education — where knowledge, practice, and inner transformation are woven together in every day.

1-Month Immersions

Throughout the year, Divinya offers a series of themed one-month immersions — a focused step into community life, practical engagement, and inner discovery. You are welcome to join for one month, or to combine several into a longer personal journey.

The first week of each immersion includes an introductory course to Divinya life.

April/May: Ecological Cultivation in Practice

Cultivation of crops, vegetables, herbs, & flowers

From seed to harvest, this immersion brings you into direct relationship with the living Earth. You participate in the full cycle of cultivation on Divinya's organically certified land — sowing and tending crops, vegetables, herbs and flowers, working in the gardens, the apple orchard, and the wider landscape. Alongside the practical work, you explore the deeper question of what it means to live in harmony with yourself and the natural world.

July: Festival Preparation, Event Management & Visual Documentation (Yoga Mela Festival)

This is Divinya at its most vibrant. July brings the Yoga Mela Festival — one of the highlights of the year in Divinya — and you become a full part of the team that brings it to life. Depending on your interests and skills, you might contribute through event organization and logistics, social media and communications, photography and video documentation, support in the children's area, in the cafés, or in the kitchen. Whatever your role, you are part of a collective creative effort — a living experience of what it means to manifest a shared vision together.

May/June: Eco-Building and Sustainable Technologies in Practice

How do we build a world worth living in — literally? In this immersion you engage hands-on with ecological building methods and sustainable technologies, working on real construction and maintenance projects within the Divinya community.

Divinya is one of the largest hempcrete projects in Scandinavia — a living example of what ecological building can be. You will learn about and work with materials and systems such as wooden structures, hemp and wood fiber insulation, perlite foundations, and the TreeWell biological water purification system, which uses plants and microorganisms to clean water that is then returned to the land. You will also explore Divinya's heating systems — wood from the community's own forest, and an ice-stick heat pump — and learn about future plans for solar and wind energy.

Here, what you build with your hands, you also come to understand with your whole being. To create a more sustainable world outside, we first learn to become more sustainable within — in our desires, our relations, and our way of living.

August: Conservation of Ecosystems and Biodiversity

Divinya is set within one of the richest ecological landscapes of southern Sweden — ancient oak forests, mixed woodland, meadows, lakes and rivers, all alive with a remarkable diversity of species. Wild boar, roe deer, fox, badger, hare and beaver move through these landscapes. Skåne is one of the most important bird areas in northern Europe, and the region is home to species as varied as white-tailed eagles, red kites, common cranes, kingfishers, woodpeckers, and an abundance of warblers, raptors and songbirds across the seasons.

In this immersion, you engage directly with the work of understanding, protecting and restoring these ecosystems. Activities may include wildlife observation and identification, habitat mapping and biodiversity surveys, meadow and forest stewardship, work in the apple orchard and park, and the study of the relationships between species — the divine agreement of ecology in direct, lived experience.

September: Vegan and Vegetarian Cooking and Food Preservation

In Divinya, cooking is a practice of expressing one's love and care — for the body, for the community, and for the Earth. In this immersion you explore the full range of plant-based cooking rooted in seasonal, locally grown ingredients.

You will learn to prepare nourishing daily meals, bake sourdough and other breads, make cakes and desserts, press juices and blend fresh smoothies, and preserve the abundance of the season through fermentation, jam-making, and other traditional methods of food preservation. You leave with new recipes and a transformed relationship to food, a new understanding of the kitchen as a place of intention, beauty, and service.

October: Holistic Health and Natural Healing: Ayurveda, Herbal Medicine and Natural Body Care

In this immersion, you explore a holistic understanding of health — and learn practical ways to care for your body, from the inside out. Drawing on multiple traditions and practices present within the Divinya community, you explore a holistic approach to health, healing, and self-care.

You will be introduced to the foundational principles of Ayurveda — one of the world's oldest systems of natural medicine — which understands health as a state of balance between body, mind, nature, and cosmos.
Alongside this, you enter the world of herbal medicine: learning to identify, grow, harvest and prepare medicinal herbs from Divinya's own gardens, and to make your own herbal preparations, tinctures, oils, creams, soaps and body care products.

You will also be introduced to Divya Deha — Divinya's own healing approach, developed under the guidance of Guruji Sri Vast. Divya Deha honors each individual body, mind and soul, and works to release inherited imprints, traumas and emotional blockages, realigning the body with nature and the cosmos, and activating its natural self-healing potential.

This course is for those who wish to understand health not as the absence of illness, but as a living, embodied harmony — with oneself, with nature, and with life.

January/February in our ashram in India: Inner Yoga

Inner Yoga is an evolutionary step in the field of yoga, and a profound path of self-discovery.
Developed by Guruji Sri Vast, Inner Yoga is a unique set of nature-based exercises and spiritual practices that work on the subtle layers of the body — including the chakras, the elements, and cosmic attunement. It helps to expand one's experience of life from the physical plane into a deeper, more spacious dimension of existence. Old imprints held in the body can be released, and natural healing can ignite. Inner Yoga is a self-healing technique that evokes the body's inherent intelligence, returning it to its natural state of flexibility, presence, and wholeness.

This one-month immersion offers a deep personal experience of Inner Yoga, as well as the foundations to share and teach it. You leave not only having experienced a transformation in your body and perception, but equipped to bring these practices into the world.

Life in Divinya

A Day in the Community

Life in Divinya is not divided into "learning time", "spiritual practice" and "everything else." Here, every moment is an opportunity for presence and inner growth.

A day might include:

The community is actively engaged in a wide range of areas: large-scale ecological agriculture (including 700 tonnes of organic wheat), eco-building, forest and park stewardship, natural healing, documentary and book production, music, clothing production, and much more. Yet what lies at the core of all this activity is everyone's commitment to their own inner growth and transformation. In every act, we try to manifest the vision of Divinya — a collectively shared life in peace, freedom, beauty and love — and to bring the Teachings of Guruji Sri Vast into living reality.

At the center of Divinya's community life is the presence and guidance of Guruji Sri Vast — an enlightened Master from South India, who has dedicated his life to the exploration of what it means to live in total freedom, beauty, and harmony with existence.

Guruji's teachings are not a doctrine or a religion. They are an invitation to go beyond all cultural and social conditioning, to rediscover one's natural state of being — a state of inner peace, clarity, and celebration of life. His vision gave birth to Divinya: a living experiment in what becomes possible when a community brings the highest human values into every aspect of everyday life.

Participants in the Ecology & Spirituality program have the rare and beautiful opportunity to receive direct teachings from Guruji, who lives and works within the Divinya community. For those genuinely seeking — not just knowledge, but inner transformation — this is surely the most extraordinary dimension of the program.

A conscious living and learning community

Divinya is a community of committed, visionary individuals from many countries and backgrounds, united by a shared sense of purpose — to actively explore and embody a new reference for ecological, spiritual living in all aspects of daily life. It is a conscious community, where inner transformation and outer engagement go hand in hand.

The realization of enlightened living is the aim of this community. Here, spirituality is something practical — not exotic, not detached from daily life. Loving, caring and sharing are themselves understood as spiritual practice. It is a space that holds joy, love, creativity and presence as a total experience of every moment.

The life here has something of the depth and devotion of a monastic community — spiritual companions who have chosen to orient their entire lives around a shared vision and path of inner liberation. Days are lived in togetherness, in a rhythm tuned with nature.

Here, sustainability is not a philosophy or an issue of activism, and spirituality is not separate from washing the dishes, building a wall, or cooking a meal. Everything is connected, and everything is seen as spiritual practice.
